A rope ladder hangs from the side of a ship in the ocean. The water comes up to the ninth rung, and the ocean is calm with few waves to speak of.
If the water rises by 40 cm every hour and the rungs of the ladder are each 30 cm apart, which rung will the water level be at in three hours?
