[It's about time to give this device a go. In neat, legible writing is simply the following:]

5 + 5 + 5 = 550

It appears I have my arithmetic out of sorts. However, it would be a shame to scrap the equation entirely. Can you help me correct it by adding a single straight line?

There are. The Kami of Japan are of a particular interest to me, though how humanity views gods from anywhere is a wonderfully intriguing subject for me.

Here, this building is the library, and this other one here is where I've been staying. It looks far if you take the road, but I went through the trees right here. [He taps a spot between buildings.] It was a lot faster that way but I don't think it kept me very dry.

That sounds fascinating. Do you know if there is any truth to this legend?

I definitely will. Now let's see. We got the 550! And the three fives. And one line's gotta go somewhere.... all those fives only make 15. And with 550 you need to make a lot more than 15...
