[It's about time to give this device a go. In neat, legible writing is simply the following:]

5 + 5 + 5 = 550

It appears I have my arithmetic out of sorts. However, it would be a shame to scrap the equation entirely. Can you help me correct it by adding a single straight line?

Though, I don't know if I'd call your arithmetic "out of sorts." It's just awful. I mean, being five hundred thirty-five off is kind of a big deal.

Ah, but I must disagree. If I'm not mistaken, my work is only off by "1".

You, too? When I first arrived, I noticed that they were communication devices, but they're so much more than that. In theory, they'd have to connect to some kind of "magical" server, but there's never any lag or disruption. I've never seen anything like them.

I've already read over the guide by R. Sage, if that is the one you're referring to. My investigation is of a more elementary nature; I only wish to study the area and see if I can glean new information from it. Nothing terribly exciting I'm afraid, but experience has taught me to be wary of new and sudden settings.
